This is a copy of the letter notifying all the seniors from 1994 of the results from Normal. I would later be proven correct in that NNHS's 1009 points was a new state record, eclipsing New Trier's 992 set in the eighth of their eight-year run in 1988.

Subject: 1995 ICTM State Math Contest.

Well, here's the information some of you have been waiting for. Naperville North did indeed win its second straight ICTM State Math Contest today on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. In so doing, they got what is very likely the highest score in state history, a total of 1009.

Additional information on the 1995 Contest: Lyons Township High School took home the fifth place trophy, but dropped from a second-place 51 to fourth-place in the two-person demonsration event....the two-person demonstration event was dragged to the limit of seven questions in both rounds, first in Naperville North's 4-0 win over Stevenson, then in their 5-3 win over Homewood-Flossmoor... .ICTM Contest Chair Carol Kajor, after announcing all the places up though orals (but before the final team scores), requested Braden Auditorium to rise for a moment of silence in honor of two former coaches who died in the past year.... Following the announcement of IMSA's second-place score of 918, Kajor once again paid tribute to former NNHS coach Robert Martin, implying that he must be still somehow leading his team given their phenomenal total. After the score of 1009 was announced, the NNHS section in the crowd let out a jubilant yell, following which they stood and applauded their representatives on stage. They were soon joined by the IMSA and Stevenson sections, and within a few seconds the whole auditorium was giving the Huskies a standing ovation, something which had not happened in any of the last four years for the State Champion.

And now the breakdown of scores for the Big Five at ICTM S95AA:
