Name: Peter Christopher Breen
High School: Naperville North High School, Naperville, Illinois, 1994
College: Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee
Where the "Place" link goes: State of Tennessee
The esteemed Mr. Breen was my closest friend in high school. For the first two year I was there, he was in at least one of my classes (later becoming a Latin scholar like Al, Jenn, Amy Genna, and myself), as well as being a perennial math teamer. He was one of the most powerful people on the math team in 1994, assuming the captaincy of the Calculator team and relays and driving them with whips and chains to two event state titles. (I won zero event state titles in 1994. Andrew Smolik became the answer to a trivia question by winning three.) Breen is a right-wing Roman Catholic Notre Dame fan, and will make sure you know all of these things in the first 30 seconds you've known him. This is a good thing, because he then assumes you know all this and proceeds to spout on the virtues of all of the above and the foul nature of their opposites (mostly political opposites). He also goes to Vanderbilt (despite getting accepted to Notre Dame and Duke and oscillating between those two publicly before returning to Nashville), which means he doesn't have a lot of nice things to say about Tennessee some of the time. I mean the university with the orange and white, not the state. He's originally from Tennessee, another fact in which he likes to wallow, and he's never had anything bad to say about the state itself. While in N-ville, he often acts as the Grand High Organizer of Activities for a significant number of people, which means when he goes out of town I get really bored. (Perhaps I should get a hobby.)
