Where the "Place" link goes: DuPage County, Illinois
Umair knows a lot of things about a lot of things. This made him a handy person to have on Scholastic Bowl; he was our team's best hope in identifying a random Flemish painter in the 1993 double-overtime match at Wheaton North. He didn't get it, which is why we went into double overtime. Because of Umair's knowledge base, he is a good yet dangerous person to be in a discussion class with. He is very informative when you listen to him, which is often because few other people get a chance to speak. He is also an official guru in the world of chemistry; he has been to Colorado to do chemistry labs. He competed in chemistry and physics on JETS, as well as having been on math team on a regular basis (except when he didn't do his math team homework).
